PETER SWAN: Peterborough Enterprise, the body responsible for delivering services such as waste collection and street cleaning on behalf of Peterborough City Council, has today promised quality won’t suffer as a result of proposed redundancies. The organisation has been undergoing a period of review, and is looking to close 18 back-office posts, although they hope to retain and redeploy many of the staff whose jobs are under threat. PAUL STAINTON: It started in the back of a pub on Bridge Street in Peterborough. It became Hereward FM, then Heart Peterborough. Now it’s officially ending its 30 year association with the city. And whilst BBC Radio Cambridgeshire maintains our 3 hour Peterborough Breakfast Show from the city, for the city, Heart Cambridgeshire is leaving Queensgate for a new base in Histon. Simon Potter and Sharon McAllister both worked at Peterborough’s Lite FM, then at Hereward FM. Now reunited on air for one last time. Good morning.

A New Surveyor for St Pauls Cathedral

PETER SWAN: St Paul’s Cathedral, designed by Christopher Wren, has watched over the City of London for the past 300 years. It’s iconic dome makes it one of the most instantly recognisable buildings in Britain. Oliver Caroe, a Cambridge-based architect, has been appointed to watch over and help preserve the structure over the coming years. I’m pleased to say he joins us now. Evening to you Oliver.

The PDH Site Sale Saga Continues ..

PAUL STAINTON: There are reports that a multi-million pound bid to buy the site of the empty PDH has been rejected, and that the land will now be put onto the open property market. The Trust was criticised by Peterborough’s MP Stewart Jackson for not putting the site on the open market in the first place, and Stewart’s with us this morning. Morning Stew.

Peter Boizot on the Broadway Theatre Sale

ANDY GALL: The future of the Broadway Theatre is once again in disarray. The owner of the theatre, Rinaldo Fasulo, has put the venue up for sale for £6 million, and has told ticket holders not to turn up for future shows. It comes after a series of problems which culminated in the company running operations, Stage Live, owing the owner £100,000. ANDY BURROWS: As we were hearing earlier on, the seat of North East Cambridgeshire will go altogether, and it will be divided up into four different constituencies, including the new seat of Wisbech and Downham Market. But people in Whittlesea, they will be moved to the seat of the new constituency of South Peterborough. TUC Conference: Investment For Jobs

PAUL STAINTON: We’re talking about pensions this morning. The Pension Bill currently going through Parliament will raise the age at which both men and women can claim the pension to 66 of course, by 2020. But the Government hinted over the weekend that the retirement age may have to go up to 67, as early as 2026.  Well it will be something they’ll be talking about no doubt at the TUC’s Annual Conference, which opens today. It’s the first to be held at their headquarters in London. It’ll debate the future of public services today, with some unions threatening industrial action in protest at planned cuts, and of course the problems with pensions. Well over the weekend the Government confirmed it will bring forward plans to increase that state pension age to 67, and earlier on this morning I caught up with Frances O’Grady, TUC Deputy General Secretary.
