\nMARK:<\/strong> Morning Paul. You alright?
\nPAUL STAINTON:<\/strong> I’m alright. We’re asking this morning is it easier to buy a house now? What’s your experience?
\nMARK:<\/strong> Well was first time buyers, and we was looking for obviously new build. We went to Larkfleet Homes building site and they basically said we’re doing new build schemes, which they put in 15%, and obviously me and the wife puts in 5%, and it was pretty straightforward really from there on.
\nPAUL STAINTON:<\/strong> As simple as that? And the mortgage was easy to get?
\nMARK:<\/strong> Yes. We went to quite a few lenders and all of them were happy to do the new build share, which I think most builders re doing these days. And do yes. It was basically – we basically started the process in .. end of October, and we moved in end of last month.
\nPAUL STAINTON:<\/strong> Were you expecting it to be a little bit more fraught, from all the horror stories that you’d heard?
\nMARK:<\/strong> Oh yeah. Well we’ve been renting for the last three or four years, and we thought we’d got no chance of getting in the market, but we went for a drive, to see how they’re doing and said, let’s have a look, and yeah, no, Larkfleet Homes were absolutely brilliant.
\nPAUL STAINTON:<\/strong> So it’s easier than you might think. So if you are stuck in rental, it may be worth going and having a check like you did Mark.
\nMARK:<\/strong> Yes., Especially if you are a first time buyer. They have a lot of schemes out there for first time buyers.
\nPAUL STAINTON:<\/strong> Where are you going to live Mark? Don’t tell us the address, but whereabouts?
\nMARK:<\/strong> Eye.
\nPAUL STAINTON:<\/strong> Oh well enjoy. Enjoy Eye Mark. Found it very easy did Mark and his family, to get on the mortgage ladder, thought it was much relaxed and much much simpler now.<\/p>\n
