Yaxley is deeply unhappy about the proposed development at Haddon. The development greenfield site is situated on the border between Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, and the worry is that new school provision will not be available to pupils resident over the border. In addition, Yaxley residents predict that traffic from the development will prove a nightmare for themselves and for Farcet residents.
Peterborough Cathedral says it has no time at all for the proposed march by the English Defence League, and the Church condemns the activity as divisive and counter-productive.
A WWF survey on British rivers says the Great Ouse scored well on many factors, but the River Nene is under pressure from pollution and water extraction.
