PAUL: There’s about two months to go until the Peterborough Breakfast Show wins the city’s Dragon Boat Festival twenty ten. Of course we’ll be out the front there with our flag, and somebody banging the drum. We’ve been training especially hard for the event, (Have we?), bench pressing actual dragons and paddling along the Nene. Along with the spectacle of the race, a special fly-past has been arranged with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. They knew we were doing it, so Squadron Leader Ian Smith said: “Of course we’ll bring the planes along, if the Paul Stainton Peterborough Breakfast Show’s going to be there, we’ve got to have a fly-past.” Didn’t you, Ian? Morning.
LN: Good morning.

(SAD MUSIC)
PS: Let’s just take a moment to reflect for all Posh fans. Because it’s normally at this point that we play the goals from last night. I refuse to play them. I refuse to play the goals from a four nil hammering by lowly Scunthorpe. Instead, it’s a chance for all Posh fans to .. just breathe. Take it all in your stride. Not to get too downhearted. Relax and enjoy Barber’s Adagio for Strings. Edwin Overland, good morning.
EO: No comment. I’ve off to buy ten packets of cigarettes, two pints of beer, fifteen gallons of petrol before the Budget, and then I’m going to Poland with Steve.
PS: To Cracow.
EO: To Cracow, or to crack off. Or crack on.
PS: Don’t forget, every hour from the highest tower of St Mary’s Church a heynal is played on the trumpet to the four quarters of the world. Youy’ll enjoy that.
EO: Don’t miss it.
PS: (laughter) Anyway, before we talk about Jim Gannon let’s talk about last night. Where the heck did that display come from?

PS: Now the Crown Pub in New England is to reopen this week as a private members community club. For anybody who’s ever done the Crown to Town, going back many years, it’s not been possible in recent weeks. It’s had a chequered past of course. It was closed earlier this year following a number of altercations at the establishment. One man, though, believes he can change it all. He’s Brian Gascoyne. Good morning Brian.
BG: Good morning.
PS: The Crown to Town’s back on!
BG: Yes it certainly is.
