Councillors Donate Free Tickets

Councillors’ plans to share out some buckshee JLS concert tickets have been scuppered after the news leaked out that they intended to award these promotional tickets to themselves, with names drawn from a hat. Most of the winners have come forward and given their tickets to deserving cases. Paul Stainton speaks to two of the councillors who were able to confirm that they had no intention of keeping the tickets in the first place. Peterborough Recruits More Midwives

Following a critical report from the Care Quality Commission on their use of temporary and agency midwives and to cope with a rising demand for the service NHS Peterborough has embarked on a recruitment campaign to employ more permanent midwifery staff. CAMRA Welcomes More Pubs

A spokesman for the Campaign for Real Ale welcomes the news that several public houses in Peterborough are re-opening, or are about to re-open, with speculation that this could indicate the start of a trend, and signal the beginning of the end of the decline in public houses.
