CHRIS MANN: Anglian Water is in talks with another English water company over trading supplies. It could eventually lead to more supplies for Cambridgeshire, but that prospect, many months off. In the meantime, the hosepipe ban which began last week stays in place, apparently unaffected by the weekend rain. Five Candidates And A Close Contest in Eye and Thorney

PAUL STAINTON: Now in around a month’s time we’ll know who’s been victorious, and who hasn’t, in this year’s local elections. In Peterborough there are 19 wards being contested on 3rd May, and it’s set to be an interesting year, as George Galloway proved in the Bradford West by-election. The three main political parties aren’t having it their own way at the moment, and in Peterborough a number of experienced and proven councillors are going to run as Independents this year. So will we witness our very own Peterborough Spring? Or will the usual three parties continue to dominate? Well let’s start by speaking to a former Cabinet Member who’s announced he’s returning to local politics as an Independent councillor in Eye and Thorney. He’s Graham Murphy. Whittlesea Rejects Peterborough South Plan

PAUL STAINTON: Residents in Whittlesea, Fletton and Woodston have voiced their concerns at proposals to change the boundaries to the constituencies that make up the UK. Today marks the end of a consultation on these proposals that would see the constituencies of Peterborough and North West Cambridgeshire replaced with Peterborough North, and Peterborough South, and the end of North East Cambridgeshire altogether. .. One area unhappy with the changes is Whittlesea. With North East Cambridgeshire being abolished, Whittlesea will join Peterborough South. But is it such bad news? Waterbeach MBTP

CHRIS MANN:It cost Cambridgeshire County Council £42 million, and it’s called The Terminator. But is it rubbish? The mechanical biological treatment plant, or MBTP, is the first of its kind in the UK. It’s meant to sort and shred the contents of Cambridgeshire’s black bins, so they can be recycled or composted, but 18 months on, The Terminator is still not working to its full capacity, despite the cost of £42 million.
